Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet was a modern retelling of that story so no one would have batted an eye if either role was played by a POC , Nolan's Odyssey takes place in that time period so it is going to lose that immersion that it is striving for.

Homer’s epic was never about women judging men.

"Homer's Odyssey" is about a man’s journey home.

A man’s cunning.

A man’s endurance.

A man’s determination to return to his wife, his son, and his kingdom despite every temptation and obstacle thrown at him.

It’s about masculine strength, intelligence, and the brutal cost of war and leadership.

Feminism has no business touching it.

But women are jealous - so they can’t leave anything alone.

They have to inject their “men bad, women victims” worldview into every classic story until there’s nothing left but misandry and gender lectures.

Homer didn’t write "The Odyssey" so modern feminists could use it as a mirror for their grievances.

He wrote it as a timeless tale of heroism, perseverance, and the human struggle against the gods and fate.
