We were basically already shipping this as a macOS app that helps developers practice technical interviews out loud with AI. Then everything paused for a couple of weeks. Then Shipaton happened — and we decided it was time to bring it to mobile too. New deadline: 7 weeks. 🧵
@PayToPin_com We shared our progress during Shipaton, but it wasn’t enough to build an audience. Next time, I’d start much earlier and try platforms like TikTok to reach potential users before launch day. 😊
We launched SpellInterview on Product Hunt today! 🚀
Practice technical interviews by voice or text, get instant AI feedback, and discover what to improve.
Junior-level practice is free.
We’d love your feedback!

@PayToPin_com Thanks! 🚀 My biggest advice would be to build an audience before launch day. Getting visibility on Product Hunt without an existing community is harder than we expected. 🙂
@Fahadh_4444 Thanks! 🙌 It’s been an exciting first day! We’re getting some great feedback and interesting questions about the app. Still early, but happy to see the interest!
@mortier_martin That’s so true! Practicing alone is very different from a real interview. We’re hoping SpellInterview can help bridge that gap and make speaking under pressure feel more natural over time. 🙌
@DonggeXing Great point! 🙌 Accents and fluency shouldn’t affect technical scores. We haven’t tested this yet, but we plan to add a separate communication score. Thanks for the suggestion!
@mortier_martin Exactly! 🙌 You might know the answer, but explaining your thinking clearly under pressure is a whole different challenge. That’s one of the main reasons we built SpellInterview!
@navneetsuman_ Thanks! 🙌 Currently, we score answers based on key points covered. We’re planning to add a more natural, conversational interview experience in a future update! 🚀
@mitansh_j07 Thanks! 🙌 That’s exactly what we wanted to make easier — practicing technical interviews out loud and getting useful feedback. We’d love to hear your thoughts if you give it a try!
We launched SpellInterview on September 22nd. It's not polished in a "funded startup" way, but it's real, it's live, and we built it together as a family.
