If you need to revamp your portfolio site, you must also update the blog page if it is coupled. Deploying two separate sites unblocks development and allows you to close a blog incase you are unable to maintain it.
After some recent pain, I've decided to decouple my Portfolio and Blog site. Two separate repositories will now be managed. The development and deployments will be completely independent.
