@RichHomieFlom So nothing is better than something? They get BI who's either a 42M expiring to use in a trade the following season, or he opts out and they're in the same spot by letting Kawhi leave.
Unless they're planning to land a big FA in '27, missing the logic here...
@samfolkk That extension was ethered by Zach Lowe & Hollinger prior to last season even starting. It was instantly terrible, and not really affected by anything that "changed." Truly wonder if overpaying on extensions is still a "Toronto tax" thing, and agents leveraging that factor.
@samfolkk Seriously though, if the league actually moves forward with the lotto reform plan to punish the bottom-3 worst teams, the value of players like BI will increase.
If the middle is more desirable than the bottom, floor-raising guys who can get you there will have greater demand.
@BlakeMurphyODC Hopefully you injected some rationalism throughout the conversation, as the outside perception heading into this season has been pretty ridiculous.
@samfolkk@LouisZatzman What would be a successful season in your minds? Team record, making the play-in vs. playoffs, making the playoffs via the play-in...
Same Q for the players, starters &/or primary bench guys. Can be a key stat(s), games played, accolades, etc.
@samfolkk@Pullup_Tre With a shift towards winning > development next season, what are some of the biggest changes we should expect? Roles, usage, bench hierarchy, etc.
If we're hitting the gas on winning next season, what exactly does that look like?
