People who continuously prattle on about “The End of the US-Led World Order” fail to account for the fact that, despite the US’s many, many dysfunctions, the main competition is as follows:

1) An economically stagnant, declining, HIV-ridden superstate hiding behind Based Orthodox edits while stuck in a 4 year quagmire against a neighboring country far smaller than it as domestic ethnic tensions increase. Far too aggressive and land-based to compete with America for world dominance.

2) A totalitarian state that hasn’t been in an actual war since the 1970’s and, while being economically formidable, cannot help but display the most geopolitically predatory behavior possible at the first chance they get which succeeds at alienating other countries and preventing any opportunity for their undervalued currency to become the world’s reserve currency. This is not to say that China is not a problem economically or militarily, but that I do not see them replacing America as the dominant power in the world (they could certainly do so in Asia though).

3) The European Union, which cannot decide on how much power it should have or what direction it wants to take itself beyond being vaguely anti-American, all while its member countries have to convince their populace to be willing to enlist in the military in the event that Russia further expands its ambitions. That is to say nothing of the ongoing issue of Third World migration. Despite this, the EU would likely be the greatest contender.

So, while acknowledging that events on the world stage can sometimes change on a dime, I am going to disregard what Twitter often tells me and remain quite confident in the continuation of the US World Order for the time being, if only for the reason that the competition sucks.
