"You can't surf, you can't skate and you never got your driver's license. Face it, you're never gonna make it."
"I don't wanna make it, I just wanna..."

@ashafriedpickle The Regrettes, Illuminati Hotties, LØLØ, Karen Dió, Amyl & The Sniffers, The Dollheads, The Bombpops - to name a few I hadn't seen mentioned yet.
@DubiousCA Yes I am calling out all the happy costume amateurs, including myself. P.S. stream EMMA. (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by Isobel Waller-Bridge, it's delightful.
@DubiousCA Haha I don't blame anyone for wiping 2020 entirely from their memory, but the historical accuracy of Emma was a big deal, and set the bar so high that any costume drama since has barely been allowed any creative liberty. That argument is like a victim of itself.
@Al_Stoyanov Norway isn't marked on this map, but we do it too, even though it's old fashioned and not that common. We even have Lillemor (Little-mother) as a given name.
@david_perell This song and the evolution of it is so special! I've been through a couple phases with it myself and I'm sure I'm not done yet, I'm only 33.
@made_in_cosmos @ durrymusic on Instagram made some pretty cool creative Bionicle builds over Christmas if anyone's interrested. As a bonus they're also a band.
idk I just personally think that getting chills from music is the best part of being alive. like when a song is so good you can feel it in your whole body. that's why I'm here.
When "a meme" changed from meaning "variations of the same running joke" to "one singular picture that may or may not fall into a familiar joke category" it gave me whiplash ngl
@Empty_America Here in Norway, we love out home knit sweaters and hand made folk costumes, but some chemicals used for moth balls and moth-proofing textiles have been banned for a few years. We're mainly back to cedar tree (balls or hangers) and garment bags now.
I read accounts of a Josephine Baker concert in the 50s. Some returned home with their coat collars smelling of Chanel no5, after Baker had spritzed the ladies of the audience. The smell reportedly lingered for years.
I live in a tiny town with a looong standing jazz festival, which means I regularly google if either legendary or niche jazz performers have ever been in my corner of the world. This time no, but turns out I worked with the guy who worked with the guy so that's cool.
