A new Chilobrachys species from Sri Lanka :
Chilobachys jonitriantisvansicklei sp. nov. (Araneae: Theraphosidae) from a fragmented forest patch in the Wet Zone of Sri Lanka. Journal of the British Tarantula Society 34(2). 25-36.
What use are spiders? Where do I even start? So many uses and benefits to us. Here is a lovely article exploring how spider silk might help in the development of improved hearing aid microphones.

#WPYalumni Javier Aznar González de Rueda was exploring Oman’s Wahiba Sands one night when he came across a xerxes huntsman spider, about 10 cm wide. It was out hunting, probably for geckos or invertebrates. Javier couldn’t resist getting his camera out.

Food limitation is a major factor in a spiders life. Next time you seen a zebra spider on a wall, have a scan for prey and note it's a veritable desert. So I like to help out by serving up the odd fruit fly to these roaming nomads. #Educate#TurnFear2Fascination#LoveSpiders
