@StagecoachYrks what's happening with the no.86 service on Wilcox Rd, Foxhill? They're currently taking the road up - what alternative route are you taking from Chap-Sheffield please? Nothing on the app or website!
Gonna back away from this platform - not closing the account but deleting the bookmark link & hoping that deters my casual browsing habit!
On ๐ฆโ๏ธ if you are that way inclined...
@AJLangheld@Boenau Well, we need both and public transport should be designed to carry bikes wherever possible to maximise potential for multi-modal transport. Too often it's seen as a binary choice but no single option suits all use cases, so it needs to be flexible...
@Forrest85919134 @Boenau 3 miles takes hardly any time - it's what you do when you get there that's important. If commuting, just get wet but pack towel/ roll-on/ underwear along with office clothes. If just shopping, consider proper waterproofs as you don't want to be queueing in cold wet lycra!
@KeithHavers@Boenau This is a good point actually. You never see a car ad where they're crawling along in bumper-to-bumper traffic and after 30 seconds the voiceover just says "well it beats waiting for a bus in the rain..."
@Boenau That said, marketing has to take a share of the blame, they've been trying to package them as leisure products for a good 40 years if not longer. Same thing happened with motorbikes & it's only started to change in the last 10 years or so...
@timoldland It strikes me that with (a) max torque from 0rpm (if you want it) and (b) traction control, EV tyres spend a lot longer at the limits of adhesion than most ICE tyres. Especially if you're a bit heavy-footed...
@HModinraven @martynschmoll I don't see how it's functionally different; you remove the sweat, towel off, apply deodorant. It worked in practice anyhow.
I'd have preferred a shower but there weren't any, plus it takes longer...
