There were originally around 10 documented tribes that wore the common war bonnet we see today.

As America became more industrialized, natives were supposed to look a certain way. & many tribes appropriated the regalia into their own traditions.

This is the American way. Sharing, adopting, and incorporating cultures into one overarching American identity.

Appropriation is not a bad thing. Share you culture, and celebrate those who celebrate with you in your own cultural traditions.
