Science is what we know. Intelligence is understanding what we don’t know. And ignorance is not recognizing the difference. Not sure which is more absurd:
1) that the “green new fools” truly understand atmospheric thermodynamics, or 2), if we give them +$, they could control it.
It’s closed because WE have a blockade. Friendly cargo ships may pass if they choose. However, because it’s a wartime situation, the companies that insure maritime vessels (most notably Lloyd’s of London) will not insure the cargo going into the Strait from either direction. It’s risk management by Lloyd’s - not IRGC control. We take our navy through whenever we want. We also have been escorting allied oil tankers through at night. From the US perspective, we don’t need the Strait right now for commerce. Our primary strategy (which from the start has been a complete success) is to cut off Iranian oil exports. As of today, 100% of their tankers blocked, turned around, or seized.
With our advanced weapons technology, Aegis integrated strike systems and defenses, and overwhelming battle ready forces (they have almost none), the US Marines would never be “sitting ducks”. Yes, they can pot shot some drones and missles, but in no way deter the mission. Secondly, blowing up Kharg infrastructure would be economic suicide for them. They know we have superior military force. All it took was a credible threat to the oil depot by a President with balls and resolve, and magically they beg back to negotiate. Force is all they understand… and we have them in a headlock.
1) None of those Islands were ever subject to the modern oversight surveillance and remote sensing we have today. 2) We have a completely free airspace. Japan still had planes to offer some naval resistance. Iran has none. 3) In the South Pacific there were scores of Japanese occupied islands for our Marines to take by land invasion combat. Kharg is just one island verses an entire Carrier Battle Group. We would own the island and perimeter before the Marines even drop in. 48 hours tops.
@StatusQuoRules@Villgecrazylady Drone pot shots during a cease fire are irrelevant in scale to what we’re discussing. Even some Union troops were killed on Cemetery Ridge before the charge began, but no one today or then questions who had complete control of the battlefield that day in Gettysburg.
Yes we do. Look up the word blockade. We have entire carrier battle groups just sitting there waiting. If they had any real defenses at all they would be firing on them. They’re not. No tankers coming in or going out around Kharg. No navy for them to rescue it. A few drug store drones wouldn’t even slow down the Marines from taking it, let alone stop them. Even a retard like me can see that.
1) This is not Vietnam. It’s an Island in a body of water we control. War always has casualties, but to suggest massive life loss in that operation is extreme exaggeration. 2) DJT and family are already wealthy. His goal is for the USA and the Iranian citizens to prosper. To assign a personal greed motive over success as President and Commander in Chief says more about you than him.
Yes, whatever it takes to bring those murdering predatory reptiles to surrender. That’s what war is. And in case you missed it, it’s the Commander’s call. Also in case you missed it, jihadists have been starting terrorist wars for 1400 years. And these IRGC lunatics of today are no different.
@WorkElizab It’s a free country Karen, that’s the standard…if you don’t like man boobs, just don’t look. It’s no different than fat women in yoga pants and skimpy tank tops at the grocery store. Repulsive, but I gotta buy food so I endure their freedom.
@ShellyM55880@Riley_Gaines_ There’s no such thing as trans (transgender). No one has ever changed their sex, just their behavior. Have all the Halloween surgery and take hormones… but you are what you are…acting a fool
Playoffs are championship competition. They are not produced for the convenience of one fan base, or the host city, and certainly not street/watch parties. As usual, you ignore that entertainment is a byproduct of athletic competition, not the other way around. The NBA and TV networks have grown like tapeworms on the sport to milk that entertainment money. Now it’s a very expensive traveling circus (pun intended), complete with barkers and clowns…that’s where you come in.
@jasonwhitlock Jason please, you can’t blame this on the Donald. Give the Spurs some credit. They played tough defense, shot well, and didn’t fold at the end.
Who are you to tell anyone to attend or not attend a basketball game? Or a City? For whatever reason, all sports fans are free to go. All your “we true New York fans will suffer if there’s more traffic” makes me laugh. Screw your inconvenience. It’s not the visiting fans fault you have a dysfunctional city. Frankly, performative sports hype is you 24/7 365. Now you want to own and keep that for just some and exclude others? Piss off.
@Rabana2011@MarioNawfal@RealCandaceO I’m not taking it away from her, I’m pinning it on her. Cowardly fake family vacation, talks like she represents other American people - zero validity there, and chooses Russian stage with Putin to trash our country’s leadership. Yes, free speech… but from a self righteous fool.
@FabbrisHair2@johnrich Sorry, you need to learn history. The country of “India” did not even exist (in name or territory) at the time Columbus first wrote the word “Indians” to Queen Isabella in a letter. As he was Italian, and she Spanish, he used a Latin term “In Deus” which means “of God”.
Don’t need to google (or be bright) to know your 1912 brave owner’s story has no relevance…isn’t that a tomahawk on the uniform? I personally find all Indian references in sports to be okay. It’s about recognizing their fierceness in battle, or to honor local tribes. Only racists or race-profiteers proclaim them as slurs.
