On this day in 1989, 2 million people across the occupied Baltic states yearning for freedom were - at this moment - finding their place in the longest unbroken chain in history.
For those of you that were there, tell us your memories and show us your photos.
In case you wonder how much the countries in Central Eastern Europe once occupied by the Soviets today support Ukraine, this video is for you.

National song & dance festivals are now underway in both Latvia & Estonia.
These Baltic festivals (in Lithuania too) are listed by UNESCO as ‘Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity’. They include some of the largest joint choirs in the world with more than 30,000 performing on stage together.
They’re essential for understanding the history and culture of our nations.
For Latvia, it’s the big 150th anniversary taking place. Here in Estonia (shown in this video), it’s the youth version of the festival this year.
No bad take here. Well, it’s a badly taken video. Nothing can come close to conveying the incredible atmosphere of these occasions until you come and experience it.

Tomorrow is a day of mourning across the Baltic countries, marking the start of Moscow’s mass deportations in 1941.
Much of the world just doesn’t get the horror of it - either historically or today in Ukraine.
Does anyone want to help them by sharing their family story?
