In film studies, our prof once went on a rant abt how we have to "de-americanize" our view of art.
iirc "Americans are obsessed with plot. Form, function, feeling, they ignore it all to ask if the plot is believable or logical. All they care about is outsmarting the artist."
i dont think enough people grasp how insane it is for four women to operate a decades long manga group where with each project they operated like a mini animation production team with character sheets and references and had consistent art styles between them to pull it all off
🐰: “what’s wrong?”
👤: “ah i don’t know…it’s so hard living as a woman”
🐰: “it wouldn’t be hard to live as my woman though”
SHE IS FOR THE GIRLS EVERYBODY
Every chinese dialect (except maybe putonghua :P) sounds fairly beautiful when spoken calmly and quietly (In the Mood for Love’s Cantonese) but the affect of most chinese ppl ensures it’s only ever spoken crudely and casually, à la sidewalk cellphone screaming match
the reason people have lost trust in media outlets is because they are so easily bought over by any evil person with some pocket change, where is the journalist integrity?????
The way they’re framing this as if she changed her story repeatedly is so irresponsible when in reality she was merely given the opportunity to read over and correct the transcribed statement that was written by someone else to make sure it was accurate, a very standard procedure

"Avengers: Doomsday" star Alan Cumming says "I don’t fully understand the plot" of the movie ("I’m here to run around") and he only acted with Florence Pugh's stunt double.
“There was a bit when we were shooting a scene, and it was one of the rare scenes when I was actually on the backlot and not in front of a blue screen. And this man came and said, ‘So right now Alan, these giant robots are blah blah,’ and started to tell me the thing, and I was like, ‘You know what, thank you so much, but just tell me where I point my, whatever I point. And I’ll do that. Really, I just know I’m here to run around'... And I saw Florence Pugh yesterday at the Emmys. And I said, ‘Gosh, it’s so funny. I’ve never met you, but you lay on top of me, or your body double did.’ And she goes, ‘Yeah I lay on top of you as well, but it was your body double.'" (via SiriusXM)
