Photographed in Nanaimo. Are cherry blossoms native to Vancouver Island? How did they get here?
Hundreds of flowering cherry trees were given as a gift from Japan, to be placed in Stanley Park in honour of Japanese Canadians who served in World War II.
Cherry blossoms are said to be native to the Himalayas. These flowers likely originated somewhere in Eurasia before migrating to Japan.
Though they are not native to Canada, these trees have incredible wildlife value and benefit the ecosystem of High Park. The small fruits of the Yoshino and Akebono cherry trees are a source of food for small mammals and many resident songbirds, including American Robins and Northern Cardinals.
Cherry Blossom trees, have edible flowers and the bark can be used for many medicinal purposes. With anti-inflammatory features, cherry blossoms can be used to reduce swelling and irritation on the skin. It also provides soothing and rejuvenating qualities, making it a popular skincare element.
Apart from skincare and face care products, people also use Cherry Blossom in shampoos because of its revitalising capabilities that strengthen the hair follicles. Moreover, as Cherry Blossom has cleansing properties, it can effectively clean your scalp of dandruff and dirt buildup.

Did you know Gdańsk Poland is the Amber capital of the world. I recently spent time there learning about this beautiful gemstone.

@AirCanada Just sent. I know it will be the same result. I don't understand how AC can't have any sympathy towards passengers when she was clearly unwell..No one even offered her water.
@SouthieJack@JetBlue Did you at least get water? I am over in Poland & flew @Ryanair for the first time. It was a terrible experience, and they don't even offer water on board (must pay for it).
