i wish the visual arts were as protected as the music industry. you can’t even play music that’s not yours on most platforms without being muted or potentially banned, but the rights to OUR work is “fair use” for everyone and we’re supposed to accept it. i’m tired.
I sometimes wish the concept art industry would get back to this era. So many projects these days expect finished illustrations to even entertain an idea when they used to trust the skilled artisans they hired to deliver so you could turn in basic idea sketches like this.
I just think ‘AI art will replace human art’ is a really cynical take and dumbs down the intelligence and passion of consumers of art. But what do I know!!! Have a good day
@arvalis Here's the part of AI "art" that I don't understand : if a real person were to sell themselves as someone who could recreate someone else's work and style 1:1, they'd get shunned and blacklisted from most places for blatant plagiarism. Why tolerate this from a machine?
While I think I understand where the worry is coming from, as crazy as it sounds I think it’s important to remember art really isn’t just about the visuals, none of these images say anything
