Significant progress in AI and Robotics this week.
Big developments from Etched, Runway, Figure, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Boston Dynamics, ElevenLabs, Osmo, Physical Intelligence, Meta, and more.
Here's everything you need to know and how to make sense out of it:
$RKLB If you want to invest in a deep tech hardware company like Rocket Lab the first rule for me is that the CEO needs to be an engineer, especially in the space industry. If you want to turn your investment in 50x, which is by definition outrageous. You are also going to need a CEO who is a one in a billion engineer 😉
Why?
Every deep tech hardware company is going to have to make very important irreversible hardware decisions that can determine the faith of the company. In addition getting key projects accross the line are crucial for the companies future and process power.
Sir Peter Beck by his own admission spends about 50% of his time being the Chief Engineer and 50% of his time on regular CEO duties. What is extremely rare is that he spends about 30% of his time still directly working on rockets and satellites with tools in his hand. 🤯
Read that last sentence again, that is very rare. Palantir investors would call Sir Peter Beck a forward deployed engineer. He literally is Rocket Lab's MVP.
Imagine the CEO of Boeing hopping on a plane to the production facility to directly work with tools in his hands on the Boeing 737 production problems, solving quality control issues and inspecting planes himself🤣That would be unprecidented. but that is exactly what a company like Boeing needs right now. They need a Sir Peter Beck figure.
Instead the CEO of Boeing and most legacy space companies are MBA's who like to receive production summaries / memo's on their desk and then make a decisions in the board room far away from the production halls that middle management somehow has to figure out and execute. The MBA's don't understand the engineering reality and middle management doesn't understand the strategic considerations. A perfect mismatch. To put the cherry on the cake, the MBA's will visit the production hall once and take along the media team for some staged photo's to convince probably just themselves they are on top of the issue.
How would Sir Peter Beck handle a challenging engineer project?
The recent Archimedes engine hot fire campaign is a great example. It is a crucial milestone in order to get Neutron to the pad in 2025 and it would be a major vote of confidence for investors and future customers if it would be succesfull. If it failed it would really look bad for the company and as such failure was not an option.
How does Sir Peter Beck tackle a problem like that?
Well he is extremely hands-on, he is not going to sit in the board room and wait till the Archimedes engine team is going to send him memo's. He hops on a flight to the Stennis facility and spends weeks with the team to make sure the hot fire is going right. He is not doing that just as a manager shouting commands, no he is working on the engine himself as well with tools in his hand. That's what a true engineering CEO should do. Lead the team through difficult challenges from the front! Imagine how much quality information SPB is getting directly from the team on the ground, versus important logic that is lost in memo's! Finally he doesn't care about how he looks like to the media, never a photo is published where you see SPB working on rockets and satellites. This guy is the real deal.
The most hilarious thing ever was that in that period there was significant FUD spread that the Archimedes engine test was not succesfull. Imagine how hilarious that must be for SPB, who literally spend weeks working with the engine team on the hot fire on the grounds at Stennis. Finally he roasted them with a carefully timed F-bomb. That was a good laugh 🤣
I sleep very comfortable at night, knowing whatever future key engineering challenge for Rocket Lab is going to occur in the future. SPB will be there on the ground with the team, making sure it will be a success!
SPB is also the reason Rocket Lab is going to be a 100 billion plus company someday.

Here's my nuclear energy cheat sheet 🧐
Small Modular & Advanced Reactor Developers
$SMR, $OKLO, and $NNE are at the forefront of next-gen nuclear technology with small modular reactors (SMRs) and advanced reactors. SMRs are designed for safer, more flexible, and cost-effective nuclear power generation, adaptable for remote areas or grid support. Advanced reactors from companies like $OKLO and $NNE focus on alternative coolants, longer fuel cycles, and higher operating temperatures to enhance safety and efficiency, positioning these developers to meet rising energy demands.
Nuclear Services & Energy Infrastructure
$BWXT supports both civilian and military nuclear systems, offering critical services and components that ensure reactor development and maintenance. $CEG, $PEG, and $TLN lead in nuclear power production and infrastructure, focusing on modernization to increase capacity and maintain zero-emission power. These companies are pivotal as the U.S. aims to achieve clean energy goals by expanding nuclear power's role in the energy mix.
Established Uranium Producers
$CCJ, $UEC, $LEU, and $UUUU are established leaders in uranium production, crucial for fueling traditional and next-gen reactors. $CCJ’s vertically integrated model spans mining to refining, while $LEU advances high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU) production, which is vital for new reactor designs. These firms are expanding capacity to meet the rising global demand for nuclear energy.
More attention needs to be paid to $Drone related stocks, they are having a big outperformance this past month. Many potential drivers: China lift, defense related, AI peers, spaceX success, election pop...

Nuclear stocks are surging as the market recognizes the massive amount of nuclear energy required for AI to reach its full potential -- just look at this week’s performance from the top nuclear names 👇
• $OKLO +112%
• $LEU +65%
• $SMR +36%
• $UEC +22%
• $NNE +19%
Betting on which stocks or sectors will outperform under a democrat vs. republican presidency has been a fool's game to play.
