Hi, I'm Felix. I'm an eng lead working on Claude. I love watching people take flight and do things they never thought possible.
We often describe that as "being more ambitious" when using AI, which is tricky advice to follow. I wrote a tutorial:

New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control.
In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale.
Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: https://t.co/wzNkwHs7IN
We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work.
At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated.
We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.
🚨 GITLAB CRITICAL PATCH: UNAUTHENTICATED RCE VIA CI/CD REGEX COMPILER (CVE-2026-97229)
GitLab released Critical patch versions 19.4.2, 19.3.5, and 19.2.8 on October 12, 2026 for Community Edition and Enterprise Edition.
• CVE-2026-97229 — integer overflow in the CI/CD Regular Expression Compiler; CVSS 10.0
• Unauthenticated attacker can execute arbitrary code on the GitLab server via a specially crafted regular expression in a CI/CD configuration
• Impacted: CE/EE from 19.2 before 19.2.8, 19.3 before 19.3.5, and 19.4 before 19.4.2
• Fixed: upgrade to 19.4.2, 19.3.5, or 19.2.8 immediately
• https://t.co/dDzuqpUBkN is already running the patched version; GitLab Dedicated customers need no action
• Same release also fixes additional High/Medium/Low issues (XSS, authz, Pages token exposure, and more)
⚠️ Analyst Note:
Official GitLab Critical patch — not a dark-web claim and not in the CISA KEV catalog as of catalog 2026.10.08. Vendor notes reviewed here do not claim in-the-wild exploitation. Credit: joaxcar via HackerOne. Prefer 19.3.5 over any 19.3.4 mention in secondary coverage (19.3.4 had a merge-request bug when Ona integration was enabled; fixed in 19.3.5).
