@wordy_fiend@Pastor_ChrisH@Soteriology101@rootcausesleuth@Mindtrap028 I wish you were right, but I can't see any other logic. I listen to James White and RC Sproul almost daily. I spend a lot of time on Sermon Audio. It seems there is a fixation with the idea that God is sovereign, but not sovereign enough to create a creature with free will.
@Pastor_ChrisH@Soteriology101@rootcausesleuth@Mindtrap028 If, as you say, "responsibility requires that the commanded action actually be possible for the person" how is the action possible for a person with an inability, either mechanical or moral, to do it?
@Pastor_ChrisH@rootcausesleuth@Soteriology101@Mindtrap028 Your example of the healthy athlete is not inability at all. It is his choices that are both his problem and his responsibility.
It comes down to what sin is - without agency there is no sin.
If you can choose do do it, it’s sin. If you have no choice at all, it’s not.
@Pastor_ChrisH@rootcausesleuth@Soteriology101@Mindtrap028 By grace God makes the first move. Humans are free to respond and thus responsible for their decision.
The distinction between mechanical and moral inability is without a difference.
