It's not easy these days to find someone with fresh ideas on learning times tables but for me at least, @colinfoster77's blog has given me food for thought.
I can't say for sure whether all of it is right but it would make a good PhD study.

@jemmaths Love this, thanks for including so much detail of your thinking through the choices you made. As checks for understanding for all students, particularly for those who slip through getting correct answers without really understanding, what strategies would you use in lessons?
Great task here is one of many from nrich, interactive or printable and different levels to complete. Ask students to prove the pair they leave to be the last two are equal! How many different ways could they do this?

Thousands of students and teachers use Polypad every day. We’ve collected some of the most useful lesson plans, guides and tutorials at https://t.co/Zkhqzp1mvU, with many more to come. Like all of Mathigon, they are completely free to download!
If you want some regular challenges for year 7 to 11 keen mathematicians then get them to sign up to Parallel. Teachers can create accounts and set tasks. User friendly. Weekly challenges or go back and do some older ones. All free! #parallel#simonsingh

A recommended read for all maths teachers, gets you reflecting on tasks previously used, why you used them and how they can be improved. A book I will go back to regularly. Teaching between the desks - what we should all do! @ChrisMcGrane84 @EmathsUK
Very insightful day at Dame Allan’s today in the sunny north east. Interesting discussion around the diamond model and with the maths department. Thanks to principal Dr Hind, head of junior school Mr Laidler for their time and to various members of the maths faculty. #calrossy
Thanks to park view school for a warm welcome and a look inside their Mathematics mixed attainment/growth mindset classrooms. Inspiring thoughts and reflections from staff and students. @ParkView_school@calrossy@premiernsw @HelenHindle1
Much appreciation to St Marylebone school for their hospitality. Great to see mixed attainment classes up to year 10 showing lots of engagement and resilience in class. Took me back to SACS days, inner city with small astro turf playground, but their sports hall underground!
Interesting day at Didcot girls school who were today relaunching growth mindset 4 years on from starting a focus on it. Some amazing maths results along the way! Next stop London!
Every good presentation ends with ...
B&Q will be confused by how many lots of 7 bricks they sell in the next week! Thanks for the engaging presentation @DavidB52s@SparksMaths#ATMMA19#premiernsw
