Divorced mom who navigated divorce, career, real estate investments and paying off my student loans($48k). I paid to get divorced and it has paid dividends $$$
@TheDividendDog Joint all the way. It's okay to have a separate account for individual purchases but for family budgeting purposes and joint accountability, joint account is the way to go.
In case you've got any questions about the news being biased, misleading, or just down right fabricated as of late - apparently @JustinTrudeau is tweeting from the @POTUS handle now. Great job @CTVNews
@NerdySuperGirl I feel you. After two separations and young kids, it's hard to build up that nest egg! No better feeling than hitting those big milestones
@AllAboutTheDivi Haha good for you. I am on my second last day of my job. I resigned and am moving out of oil and gas and into government. A lot of changes here on my end.
@Mikhail_Thekid Two months ago the variable and 5 yr fixed rates at many companies were the same. Doesnt appear to be the case anymore. My fixed rate is actually lower than the variable now. With yields increasing, it's only a matter of time before fixed rates rise.
@mattha86 That's still really good! My old rate for this property was 2.79% and that was amazing 5 years ago, rates have been continually falling this last year. I was offered 1.59 at the beginning of January.
@Mikhail_Thekid I can only speak in Canada as that is where I am but if you look at govt bond yields then it would indicate that fixed mortgage rates will be rising again shortly.
@AllAboutTheDivi Mattyyyy! Yes I'm glad I waited it out, looks like they will start going back up right away. Need to renew my main residence as well I the next few months but will be using my broker for that one. How are you???
@JaxsBeachLife I got married in October, a week before they shut down weddings here. I'm so happy we did it when we did. Rented out a small restaurant and just had our parents, siblings and a few close friends.
