But that ignores that people with these thoughts have much higher rates of offense than those without

If they refuse help they can either rot in jail or be killed. You do not get to walk the streets free as a pedophile “accepting your attraction”

If someone had an innate attraction to blowing up schools, would you not say they need help?

The attraction is not harmless, it poses a serious threat to children. Those people need help and you’re feeding their problems
