@omaha_scanner It would be awesome if specific deterrence and general deterrence actually worked for such crimes. But, alas, we don’t live in a land of fairies, rainbows, and unicorns. Tough problems require complex solutions, not just more punishment. Let’s do better.

I have never had a leadership article describe my situation so perfectly. This is why I love to do finite projects (like mowing the lawn) on my own time...because academia has so few finite projects and you never have a sense of closure or completion.
