The funding will help Ukraine field a squadron of 16 Saab Gripen E fighter jets by 2029. The package also includes pilot and engineer training, simulators, spare parts and other equipment needed to get the aircraft to the frontline.

Residents of Ittoqqortoormiit, one of Greenland's most isolated towns, are speaking out against a U.S.-linked oil exploration project. Finland has quietly secured one of the most strategically important defence industry deals in Europe this year. 🇫🇮🇺🇸🚀

While Russia struggles with fuel shortages and keeping its own military equipment operational, Finland is becoming a key part of NATO's long-term military logistics.

Europe's first maintenance and sustainment centre for the Common Fire Control System used by the M270A2 MLRS and HIMARS will be established in Tampere through a partnership between the Finnish Defence Forces, Insta and Lockheed Martin.

This is about far more than servicing electronics.

It means:
• Faster repairs and upgrades for European MLRS and HIMARS operators.
• Less dependence on transatlantic logistics.
• Greater resilience during prolonged conflicts.
• High-value defence industry jobs and expertise staying in Europe.

The agreement is also part of Finland's broader industrial cooperation linked to its F-35 acquisition, demonstrating how smart procurement can strengthen both national defence and domestic industry.

A pattern is becoming increasingly clear across the Nordic region:
