@J_Swish24 The most sad thing about this take is that people actually believe Marner was run out of town. Eventually you guys gotta stop carrying all that water for him.
I do love the discourse regarding US hockey players upset that Canadians booed their shit anthem. I also love the comments where Canadians are piss babies for voicing their opinions on the threat of their country being annexed. Truly no better time to keep politics out the game!
@ezralevant@uLethbridge@lethpolice@LethbridgeCity@SPVM It’s so awesome that whenever something like this occurs it just so happens the perpetrators are always far-left radicals. These people have too much McFreedom, only common sense conservative voters should be afforded such McFreedom.
Elliotte Friedman: What I believe is the truth is that the way the American players who won the gold medal felt in their Canadian markets...is a factor; I think some of those guys...felt a bit hated and it might have influenced their decisions - 32 Thoughts (6/22)
NHL players finally have the power and they are opting to turn the league into an early retirement home. Fans can take a hike while the league becomes irrelevant.
“We’re just pieces of meat” a phrase often said by professional hockey players. It’s pretty self explanatory. NHL players have the power now and they’re not going to feel bad about using it. Whether people like it or not, that’s where we’re headed.
My favourite part of free market capitalism is when the hoarding class who provides no value gets bailed out by taxpayers instead of letting the free market part happen.
It’s funny how many Leafs fans are still hung up on Nylander holding out for a $6.5m contract, the moment they believe gave Marner the green light to drag the team even worse thru negotiations.
