tl full of pretty little liars and as it should be. one of the most iconic series of its era, serving twists, drama, and chaos every week. triple platinum, forever a classic ⭑
I recently rewatched Legally Blonde (2001). This is what I noticed.
The fact that Elle creates an ethic of care all around her is incredibly feminist (believing Brooke and not betraying her trust, getting previously hostile rival Vivian on board, advocating for Paulette and treating her as an equal).
Elle doesn't win on ruthless male terms, she operates more ethically.
She creates a supportive community out of an initially hostile and isolating environment, and in that space all the redeemable characters thrive.
Essentially, Elle is an incredibly effective coalition builder.

I can't express how much I HATE the way Ed's guitar and loop pedal skills are constantly being downplayed. He can produce his own songs, both in studio and in his SOLD OUT 3-hour live shows. Her, on the other hand, has to go looking for a nearby rapist just to make flop music.
