Thomas Morton played at Southern Miss from 2017-2021. A wonderful young man who has a high level of faith, now serves as the assistant tightends coach at Ohio State. Yep...
While Thomas was at USM, Coach Jim Durning served for a while as strength coach for our football team. Speed forward five years, we witnessed Thomas and a beautiful daughter named Alexandria Durning saying "I do" in Athens, Georgia this weekend. 🙂
Coaches from a little everywhere were in attendance. But also was the aroma of an intimate celebration of two great kids, choosing to share their journey in the Lord together. Beautiful.

In addition to the historic steps in the 2026 season of our Southern Miss Golden Eagle Baseball team, FCA of Southeast Mississippi would like to say congratulations to the MHSAA baseball champs from our area!
"Well Done" to Petal (7A), Sumrall (5A), Presbyterian Christian School (3A) and Mize (2A).
And....we might not be done yet! Pearl River Community College, Jones College, and William Carey University are still alive in World Series postseason play respectively. We are hoping to hear some great results soon!
Great journeys in this season for these coaches and teams,....on and off the field.
