@GRFinMacc @davegrin68 @pmcb73 @georgedownie2 @JuniorsWtfc @winkveron @Bvnter @yeti5511 And that’s the point. Develop players within grassroots to get them ready for pro academies. Essentially ex-academy teams should not be playing in grassroots leagues

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@GRFinMacc @davegrin68 @pmcb73 @georgedownie2 @JuniorsWtfc @winkveron @Bvnter @yeti5511 Putting 2 brand new u16 teams straight into the EMJFL prem has raised a lot of noise

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@davegrin68 @GRFinMacc @pmcb73 @georgedownie2 @JuniorsWtfc @winkveron @Bvnter @yeti5511 One big difference is the ability to hoover up players that have been released from pro academies and putting them into a grassroots team. Seems the wrong way round.

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@pmcb73 @georgedownie2 @JuniorsWtfc @winkveron @GRFinMacc @Bvnter @yeti5511 Any issues you have with the use of the MEA should be taken up with Schools Plus, we’re customers just like you- no preferential treatment.
FYI- only 1/4 of the main pitch was being used 6-7pm tonight.

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@JuniorsWtfc @pmcb73 @winkveron @GRFinMacc @Bvnter @yeti5511 We are a local club, vast majority of our players live within 15 mins of the MEA.
The rise in cost is a factor as other clubs have committed to lengthy block bookings that schools plus won’t turn down

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@pmcb73 @dragonsjfc @winkveron @GRFinMacc @Bvnter @yeti5511 It’s all down to these https://t.co/muGStTUcKN they manage the MEA facility, all bookings etc. They put the prices up by 25%.

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@dragonsjfc @pmcb73 @winkveron @GRFinMacc @Bvnter @yeti5511 No one club has the full main pitch Mon-Fri 6-8 exclusively.

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@dragonsjfc @pmcb73 @winkveron @GRFinMacc @Bvnter @yeti5511 Tru Academy, Lisbon etc?

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@pmcb73 @winkveron @GRFinMacc @Bvnter @yeti5511 Yes. There are several other clubs that use the MEA during the week along with the MU Foundation

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@pmcb73 @winkveron @GRFinMacc @Bvnter @yeti5511 We have had training slots at the MEA weeknights for several years. The only night we have the full pitch is Tuesday 6-7pm

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@tom_catbiscuit @yeti5511 @winkveron @GRFinMacc @Bvnter @LancashireFA @lancssundayleag @prestoncouncil @LancashireCC @FA @EnglandFootball @Cheshire_FA @Manchester_FA @UCLan We’ve used the MEA for over 5 years- the outsourced company (Schools Plus) put the prices up by 25% from September and gave our Sunday bookings to another club who have block booked 10am-3pm every Sunday. We can’t match that as we had a slot for 2 games every Sunday

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@winkveron @tom_catbiscuit @yeti5511 @GRFinMacc @Bvnter @LancashireFA @lancssundayleag @prestoncouncil @LancashireCC @FA @EnglandFootball @Cheshire_FA @Manchester_FA @UCLan Not been to the Wythenshawe pitches since the council took over. They used to be very good a few seasons back

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@winkveron @tom_catbiscuit @yeti5511 @GRFinMacc @Bvnter @LancashireFA @lancssundayleag @prestoncouncil @LancashireCC @FA @EnglandFootball @Cheshire_FA @Manchester_FA @UCLan £85 for a grass pitch??

[Spotted-By Football Academy @spotted_academy]

@tom_catbiscuit @yeti5511 @winkveron @GRFinMacc @Bvnter @LancashireFA @lancssundayleag @prestoncouncil @LancashireCC @FA @EnglandFootball @Cheshire_FA @Manchester_FA @UCLan Exactly- the outsourced company have given the bookings to clubs that take 3,4,5 hour slots at a time
