Year 5 had a fabulous day in London visiting the Houses of Parliament and Downing Street. Thank you to @DavidDavisMP who took time out of his busy schedule to talk to the children about parliamentary debates.

Today we had our Remembrance assembly. We were lucky to have Mr Stannard (our new year 5 TA) telling us all about the armed forces. Mr Stannard used to be an RAF military bandsman before he joined Springhead.

Yesterday, @DavidDavisMP (our local MP) spoke in the King’s Speech debate and, in part of his speech, focused on AI in the classroom. He referenced his visit to Springhead Primary earlier in the year during his speech.

Year 1 worked very hard in their move up morning this week. They created their own fish to show how unique we all are before they start Year 2 in September 🐠

Our fabulous origami club made a lovely tribute to the little penguin chick from the Deep, which sadly died this week. Their work has been sent to the staff at the Deep to let them know we are thinking about them @TheDeepHull

Year 2 spent time designing and making sandcastles today. They thought of different adjectives and adverbs to describe the process ready for their poetry next week! 🏝️

Year 2 created some beautiful artwork inspired by the Aurora Borealis. They used a smudging technique alongside colourful chalk to show the skyline above the mountains🎨🖌️

A big thank you from year 2 to John and Sally who came in to answer our RW question “Who is God?”. We had lots of different ideas and thought outside of the box! ⛈️❤️✝️
