ZETA、上半身まで進みました。
作業13日目、だいたい50時間です。

今回の光はモネの夕景を参考にしていますが、
色の選び方は、そこまで印象派の理屈に忠実ではありません。

できるだけ彩度を落としたくないので、
環境にありそうな色を考えつつ、最後はかなり感覚で選んでいます。

たとえば、同じ夕陽を受ける左腕でも、
青い装甲は黄、橙、緑、青緑、青。
白い部分は黄、橙、赤、紫。
固有色に合わせて、それぞれ別の流れにしました。

背景には低い夕陽だけでなく、
まだ青さの残る空や、赤く焼けた雲、ピンクや紫の雲も想定しています。
装甲の面ごとに、その中のどの色を拾うかを考えながら塗っています。

ただ、全部が自然な反射の再現というわけでもなく、
形を見やすくしたい場所では、色や明暗を少し強めています。
ZETAのような角張った機体は、隣り合う面の関係が見え方にかなり影響するので、カラーモジュレーション的な考え方も少し入れました。

こうして見ると、出発点は印象派の光ですが、
彩度を優先して感覚的に色を選んだ部分には、
少しだけ表現主義的な傾向も出てきたように感じています。

上半身まで来て、今回やりたかったことがだいぶ見えてきました。
次は脚部です。
