@kriti_kun In Europe, it was particularly harsh among the poor.
In Japan, abusive parent-child relationships can occur even among the wealthy. Abuse specific to wealthy families has a slightly different nature than that of the poor or rural areas...😭
similarities, but also differences.
@kriti_kun My mother probably wanted to say that if you bring that class system into the home, then the parents are of the samurai class and the children are of lower status, so you shouldn't resist... but that's a flawed logic. Justifying violence based on such class is morally wrong.
@kriti_kun And it was said that samurai could kill people of other classes who didn't respect them without being held accountable. In Japan, there is a history where "status" was considered more important than wealth, and there was an authoritarian aspect to it.
@Siartasolovej It's a kind of dark humor, but it's true 😹😹 Dostoevsky is effective for certain types of depression in Japanese people. 🥹🥹
And It's absolutely true that I love my grandmother.👵💖💖
@DomovoySan48350 ...I want to believe that, but it's a really persistent problem. It's also true that there's no end to the world of deeply traumatic and dark experiences that would break someone's spirit if they didn't act this way.😭😭
@DomovoySan48350 That's a situation similar to ours. When dark experiences occur systemically, we rationalize the overly violent structures with reason. It's a universal and deeply rooted problem 😭 However, by believing in and acting on small acts of kindness, we can stop that chain 🙏
@MokoRono0 The translation of "Dostoevsky was a way to protect oneself" was rendered as "lucky charm," resulting in a spiritual statement that a Dostoevsky reader would least likely never say😹😹
