📷 Will you STOP spying on customers with live facial recognition cameras @asda?
I will no longer shop at #Asda supermarkets if you continue to use this rights-abusive surveillance tech.

@Zagonel85@RealCynicalFox@TheStudyofWar A wounded/killed ratio of 4:1 is on the low end of average for this kind of conflict. Wounded people can't usually fight, so where is the maths problem here? 70x4 = 280k wounded, so 230k wounded would be a good showing...

I just drove past where Paul Kessler (z”l) was attacked by anti-Israel Hamas supporters on 11/5 and died as a result of being bludgeoned with a megaphone. Why this literally hits at home for me isn’t just because I’m a Jew but because I am also a father and this spot is minutes from where my daughter learns ballet. It is across the street from where we take her to Barnes and Nobles. Why it hits more acutely is because this is supposed to be a safe place. But it isn’t. The sad reality of our world today is that no place right now is truly safe for Jews.

In this piece, Lucy Holmes examines how Haiti has found itself overrun by armed gangs, devoid of elected representation, and once again facing the apathy of the international order.

16-year-old Armita Geravand is now in a coma after being beaten by the morality police of the Islamic regime (which the New York Times said was disbanded). On November 2nd, the Islamic regime will be Chair of the U.N. Human Rights Council Social Forum. Why, @antonioguterres?
Russia facing Wagner insurgency on own territory, but RuAF is still bombing areas out of control of Assad in Syria. Ongoing airstrikes on N. Latakia countryside👇
@SheildHuman@njh2005@thomasjoscelyn Plus Hamas, PIJ, recommend reading Adrian Levy and Cathy Scott-Clark's The Exile, documents in detail AQ's relationship with Iran
1/ In July 2022, the U.S. killed Ayman al-Zawahiri, the global emir of al-Qaeda, in a drone strike in Kabul, Afghanistan. The U.N. just released a report saying the "de facto" leader of AQ is now Sayf al-Adl and he's still residing in...Iran.
FYI: When you see Russian elite members "acting mad", be aware they are acting 100% rationally. It's smart to play mad. Mutually exclusive, collectively exhaustive, you can:
a) Play the "voice of reason" -> Putin destroys you
b) Play "mad" -> Putin keeps you
c) Keep silence🧵

Balochistan/Baluchistan’s political history in 8 historical maps
These maps will explain how a sovereign country, belonging to one of the ancient nations (the Baloch) of the region was occupied, divided, and wiped out politically by the British Empire and its successors
@andrew_lilico Key benefits of TNWs - area denial, psychological impact, and have the destructive force of many conventional warheads concentrated in one place. If one was used, say along a key route for weapons shipments into UKR, it would cut the supply instantly, nobody would brave it
@andrew_lilico Responding is difficult as well. We have already run out of road on sanctions, they're about as tight as we can go. Ukraine isn't under nuclear umbrella and we wouldn't trade London for Kyiv. We could step up arms support, but we're already doing a lot of that.
@andrew_lilico Militarily they would give them absolutely an edge, how could they not? Deeply destructive, psychologically devastating and a weapon Ukrainians don't have with which to respond in kind. I think it's a seriously under-rated risk.
Fun fact for the day, if we wanted to build enough solar farms to power 3,000,000 homes, we would need 60,000 acres. Sounds a lot, but that's 0.1% of UK's total land and 1/11th the amount of land currently used for... golf clubs
The next PM needs to put Britain’s energy policies on a war footing.
Tax reductions alone won’t cut it.
But combined with targeted financial support and a national energy efficiency campaign, we can combat the winter gas crisis.
