🚨 Madhya Pradesh has completed India's longest underground water conveyance tunnel under the Bargi Diversion Project.

The 11.95-km Sleemanabad Tunnel connects the Narmada and Son basins, enabling Narmada water to reach drought-prone parts of the Vindhya region. The project is expected to irrigate nearly 2.45 lakh hectares of farmland across six districts, strengthening water availability for farmers.

Ladakh Border Villagers Raise Grazing Access Issue with Parliamentary Panel

Residents of villages along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh have told a Parliamentary Standing Committee that they have lost access to traditional grazing grounds since the 2020 India–China border standoff.

The delegation said nomadic pastoralists are no longer permitted to access grazing areas, affecting their livelihoods, and urged the government to allow controlled access in coordination with security agencies.

They argued that the continued presence of border communities strengthens national security, describing locals as India's "second line of defence" in frontier regions.

The delegation also sought:

Recognition of border communities' contributions in national war memorials

Better tourism support and relaxation of certain restrictions

Upgradation of the strategically important Phobrang–Tsogtsallu road for improved defence logistics and civilian connectivity.

The Parliamentary Committee has assured the delegation that it will examine their concerns.
