LET’S CLEAN THIS CHURCH! With all the hangings and ornaments stripped away for Good Friday, it’s a great time for us to get the church looking amazing for Easter. Join us from 10am Holy Saturday. Let’s get the brass shining!
Our #GoodFriday began with our children’s liturgy, and then the ecumenical Walk of Witness starting from the Green. The solemn Liturgy of the Day - best attended for years - was movingly celebrated, with Prebendary Irena Edgcumbe preaching powerfully about the cross.
Last night during our Maundy Thursday liturgy Fr Pete washed the feet of our confirmation candidates, and the liturgy concluded with the procession to the Altar of Repose. Today we journey to Calvary.
Today is #GoodFriday when our Holy Week journey reaches the cross. Join us as we recall the death of Jesus.
‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.’
Join us on Easter Day at St Paul’s to celebrate the Resurrection. We have three celebrations of the Eucharist, at 8am, 9.15am, and 10.30am, and this year the Vicar, Fr Daniel, will be preaching at all of them.
Today is Maundy Thursday. Join us for the Sung Eucharist of the Last Supper at 8pm. People can come and go during the Watch of the Passion which takes place afterwards. This concludes with the Gospel of the Arrest.
We give the church a massive spring clean on the morning of Holy Saturday (30 March), from 10am to midday. Just turn up, and bring dusters, Brasso, etc with you if you can. We'll supply tea and coffee!
We had a wonderful Palm Sunday at St Paul's. We celebrated the Lord's triumphal entry into Jerusalem, represented by our procession with palms. During Holy Week we pray that God may give us grace to draw close to the cross, and to share in Jesus’ suffering and in his glory.
#HolyWeek begins tomorrow! Join us as we immerse ourselves in the events of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and renew in ourselves the mystery of salvation!
The Watch of the Passion takes place in silence from the end of the Maundy Thursday liturgy until midnight. Please sign up for a 30 minute slot using the sheet at the back of church.
Holy Week starts with Palm Sunday. We start our All-Together Eucharist at The Green at 10am. Bring greenery if you have it. We’ll distribute palm crosses, & musical instruments for small children, as we recall the Lord’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. 8am Said Eucharist as usual
