Please retweet, convicted animal abuser avoids jail while beaten dog is 'put to sleep' #UK
CONVICTED | Mason Sestanovich, 24, of #Wincobank, #Sheffield S9 – caught on CCTV beating a scared and submissive XL Bully.
Sestanovich, who’s originally from #Croydon and has links to #Clapham, is banned from keeping animals for life after being filmed carrying out a an unprovoked, prolonged assault on the defenceless dog, named Chicago.
The incident took place in the hallway of a block of flats in Hyde Park Terrace in #Sheffield on October 4, 2023. A housing manager alerted the RSPCA who visited Sestanovich at his home. Inspectors found that aside from terrorising Chicago, he was keeping her in unsuitable conditions.
An RSPCA behaviourist said: “Chicago was grabbed roughly and beaten and the dog’s body language expressed extreme fear and the violence of the man’s gestures indicates the blows were delivered to the dog with extreme violence and caused pain.”
Sestanovich said the dog was an XL Bully. Despite being told that he needed to register her to comply with the law, he refused to do so and also refused to sign her into the care of the RSPCA.
Sadly, Chicago was typed as an XL Bully when she was assessed at a rehoming centre. Despite having done nothing wrong, she therefore had to be put to sleep in accordance with government legislation.
Sestanovich pleaded guilty to inflicting blunt force trauma, physical violence and intimidatory behaviour on the dog.
Sentencing | 16 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months; 100 hours of unpaid work and 10 days of ‘rehab’; £400 in court costs plus £154 victim surcharge. Lifetime ban.

Chicago, RIP 🌈
@Xenta777 My dad used to say there is only 6 weeks between a bad haircut and a good one. I’m sure you look perfect, but I understand how it feels. ❤️🇺🇦❤️
$490 more to raise for food 🎯
If 49 people could donate $10 each I can pay last month's half food bill.
Any amount is big amount.

I'm sorry I'm too emotional and not in a good way but the situation in Pakistan is dire. Help the forgotten dogs of Pakistan for they truly are the most wretched of creatures. To help save a life: https://t.co/etGaLMqAf7
@tws_pk2 I’m so sorry Romana, I know you give everything you have, physically, emotionally, financially, to these poor innocent souls, and you suffer because of it. It’s beyond heartbreaking and cruel.
Can't share video as the cries of the dog will haunt you forever, so just sharing some images where a dog is murdered in cold blood by a local government employee. This is what I've been screaming about for months now and yet the world turns a blind eye to the plight of the Pakistan dogs.
This was exactly my point. Thailand has some excellent organisations and significant international support. When I think of forgotten dogs, I think of Pakistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and other countries where the scale of suffering often far exceeds the level of international attention and resources available to address it. It's one of the reasons we created the Global Dog Crisis Map to highlight dogs the world rarely sees.
If anyone reading this is an attorney in Arizona or knows one, this is for you.
Snuggles' family needs a lawyer. Lucy and I will be doing everything we can to help @LoneStarChica bring national media attention to this case. This would be a great chance for you to make a name for yourself. Don't shy away from the moment. If you want to go down in history as a hero, this is your chance.
I know the right person will see this. Step up. Seize the moment.

Please retweet, British councils will say they don't have the resources to assess all stray dogs or potential new homes. A council can kill a healthy dog after just 7 days if local shelters are full. Shelters across the UK are full, most with waiting lists of people wanting to give up dogs‼️‼️ Councils are still issuing new licenses to breed.
Please tag your MP in these posts, email them or ask to meet them about overbreeding in your area?
Sadly no figures exist re how many dogs councils are killing as vets are not required to report how many healthy dogs they kill for councils or owners.

📸 Courage, haru, rat ❤️
Please follow and support @anilaumair_ who is trying to save as many lives as possible. Even today on route to a meeting she rescued this poor dog from the middle of the road. Cars were driving past but no one stopped to help apart from Anila, so please give her a follow 🙏🏼
Donations are slow and we still need £135 for transport. Please help these dogs join their forever home, they were rescued from being culled and so deserve a happy ending. PayPal: https://t.co/3C00sBRM9n

The internet’s algorithm is broken, and so is its conscience. We post about the brutal, heartbreaking reality facing the street dogs of Pakistan, where thousands are being systematically culled in a literal war zone. It gets say 500 views.
Meanwhile, the digital world routinely rewards polished, sugarcoated narratives with hundreds of thousands of views, endless praise, and massive funding.
This is the frustrating reality of modern "advocacy."
The internet would often rather swallow a comfortable, sanitised story than confront a massive, systemic crisis. It rewards big marketing machines while ignoring the grueling, underfunded grassroots battles happening in the mud. But to the 500 people who look at our posts: Thank you for having the courage to face the raw, unvarnished truth. We don’t have slick algorithms, a corporate marketing budget, or a sanitised fairytale to sell.
What we do have is integrity.
While the digital world looks the other way, we are on the ground doing the heavy lifting. We are brick-by-brick building a physical sanctuary, treating the survivors, and taking this fight straight into the courts to change the law permanently.
The algorithm might be rigged, but history won't be. The real work happens in the trenches and the courtrooms, not under a curated camera lens. #StopKillingDogsPak
