Planning to introduce Oracle Linux version 8 (OL8) based provisioning for BaseDB. With the Oct 2023 Release Update (RU) releases, any new VM DB System provisioned with the latest database RU will be OL8-based. This applies to the database release versions 19c, 21c, and later.
Once this change has been implemented, customers will be able to choose from two possible backup deletion options:
• Retain backups per backup retention period (this will be the default choice) ...
• Retain backups for 72 hours, then delete ...
