@JAtanackov I live in Peekskill and have been fascinated by the 92 meteorite, but didn't know there was an associated fireball or so much video! lucky that it was on a friday night during football season
@Vincent_Ledvina how much does the density measure matter for aurora viewing?
also, thanks so much for all your posting! mainly because of you, I am starting to get the hang of using these graphs + GOES to figure out when it's worth heading out!
@theauroraguy Not bad given that 2019 was nearly the solar minimum!
I'm thinking about taking a trip to Banff in August to try and catch some Auroras - do you have any other spots you'd recommend out there? Or is pretty much everywhere good?
The aurora borealis was visible last night in Peekskill, NY! iPhone shots from ~1AM at the Bear Mountain Bridge scenic overlook.
Seeing the aurora has been on my bucket list for ages; I can't believe it happened a few miles from my house - and only 40 miles north of NYC!
@carolineavenue bushwick community darkroom has a large format scanner I have used in the past for Big Art Stuff
or, photoshop has a built in feature under the automate menu called photomerge and it does a very good job of lining up overlapping photos into one big one, works well for big scans
@josiahhughes@tonyhawktruther@premiles_ it's chalkboard SE
but calling it comic sans makes for a better tweet imo. for one, it's got people arguing in the comments.
@eggshellfriend oh OR you might be talking about the smell of wild sage. extremely warm / buttery / feathery. and for me it's the #1 most powerful olfactory nostalgia trigger "smells like home" etc
gl with your smellquest!
@eggshellfriend grew up there and yes 100% know what you're talking about. Idk if purple needle grass is what produces that smell but it's always present when I smell that. and it looks like that smell. https://t.co/3jIr4beyc3
