ADHD is like 50% not working, 50% working frantically to make up for the not working part, 50% thinking about the work I should be doing (but not actually working), and 50% not sleeping (but trying to).
The most prominent feature of ADHD is executive dysfunction. One challenge is initiating tasks. It’s just legit HARDER to motivate to start. Often this intersects with feeling overwhelmed and not knowing where to start. The result? We just do nothing because we feel “paralyzed” and end up ruminating about all we “should be doing.” This is often super uncomfortable and a shame spiral is often not far behind. According to my brother-in-law
this virus
was cooked up in a lab
and nefariously released
upon the unsuspecting public
as part of a conspiracy
to depopulate the planet
but when I ask him
if he is doing anything
to protect himself from
this virus
he tells me it’s just the flu.
I work in aviation. Most people would probably be surprised by how many neurodivergent people work in the industry. In the nicest way possible, you're basically being kept alive by a load of people with autism, whose childhood obsession with planes has become their career.
So there’s this one tattoo design that’s pretty popular.
A wolf face on one side and a skull on the other side.
I love this tattoo design because the message behind it is just so unintentionally GREAT....🧵
