Best time ever presenting @NYSCATE with @MrChemGeek about virtual reality in a shoebox. Never would have imagined this 3 years ago when I leapt into 1:1! Thx to my awesome co-presenter for his support and encouragement and my other inspirations @BarbTasber @ekoval9
@SrtaWalpole @PenfieldCSD ❤️. A teacher friend gave me the idea of using clothespins when talking in target language and you get to take one when partner breaks from Spanish. They could come and talk to me in Spanish to get more if needed. I like the idea of giving crutches to help.
@sra_dickerson @PRHSspanish I’ve had them go to a weather website set to Spanish and then look up the weather in various Spanish speaking countries. They can do an activity that allows them to find vocab you are working on as well as find cognates. https://t.co/WJsVT27oOb
For the 1st time in months I heard my Ss laugh when I made a joke. I have missed that sound!Taking it 1 day @ a time & trying to make it the best experience possible for all of my students- in person or remote. Much ❤️ to my colleagues who are amazing ppl & helped me tons today!
@SymonsScott I’m reading How to be an Antiracist by the same author- so much to think about and reflect on. It’s an amazing read but I frequently have to put it down just to process my thoughts and feelings. If interested we could do a book swap!
@sra_dickerson https://t.co/kRHOKJ10eH I plan on using a shortened version of this for the kids to read and reflect on-Language learning is full of “failure”- but it’s the only way to learn it!
@PrincipalPick I appreciate your posts a lot. In a collaborative mtg we had an amazing facilitator who said that we may want to approach it as creating online lessons for the week & then picking pieces out for in-person application. Made it seem more doable and works if schools close suddenly
Don’t know who needs to hear this but I just figured out bookmarks on twitter. I had been emailing myself links from tweets🤦♀️ No matter how much you know there is always something new to learn! Today’s lesson- keep pressing buttons until something works 🤣
@senortaylor2 @MrChemGeek@NYSCATE It’s the virtual bedroom project I did with the green screens. Hope to “see” you there- it may be a virtual conference so that may help with being able to attend. Last year BOCES got a grant and that’s how I was able to go- maybe you could check into that?
@MrChemGeek is awesome- he wrote up a proposal for this year @NYSCATE to present on a project he helped me create and implement and we will be presenting at the conference! So excited!
