The first phase of the Gaza deal is a major step towards peace.
We now need to plan for the day after.
The EU stands ready to do its part, by redeploying our EUBAM Rafah mission and discussing what can be done with EUPOL COPPS mandate.

Happy 25th anniversary to CivCom, the EU Committee for the Civilian Aspects of Crisis Management which I've been a part of in its starting as a National Subject Matter Expert. I'm grateful for its unwavering and political support and steady strategic guidance to EULEX.
Peace. Democracy. Solidarity.
These values laid the foundation for the EU and still guide us today. 🇪🇺

Today marks a grim milestone.
For three years, Russia has brutally attacked Ukraine, trying to steal land that isn’t theirs.
Right now, more than ever, we have to support Ukraine.
My doorstep ahead of today’s Foreign Affairs Council ↓
#Gaza: EUBAM Rafah was today redeployed to the crossing point that reopened.
It will allow the transfer of individuals out of Gaza, including those requiring medical treatment.
It can play a decisive role in supporting the ceasefire.

#EUMA is glad to announce – EU Council has extended the mission mandate in 🇦🇲 until 19.February 2027. The mandated tasks of the mission remain unchanged – EUMA is and will remain an unarmed civilian mission. We are proud to stay committed to peace and stability in the region🇪🇺🇦🇲.
Everyone agrees that EUBAM Rafah can play a decisive role in supporting the ceasefire.
Today, EU Foreign Ministers agreed to redeploy it to the Rafah Crossing Point between Gaza and Egypt.
This will allow a number of injured individuals to leave Gaza and receive medical care.
📅 Behind us is an informal meeting of the EU Committee for Civilian Aspects of Crisis Management (CivCom).
It gathered diplomats from 🇪🇺 member states, EU institutions, and representatives of Polish authorities that second experts to EU civilian missions.
