For 24 years, I have run @AmaxEstates, a small independent business in #Gravesend.
I’ve always paid my dues, supported the local economy and worked hard to build something sustainable.
Over the past few weeks, I have been trying to resolve a serious issue with my business rates — and despite multiple emails and attempts to engage, I have received no response from @graveshambc
I have been told one rateable value (£12,750) which was also confirmed over phones calls, yet billed another (£15,000), resulting in an increase from £147 per month to £642 per month — a rise of over 340%
For a small business, this is simply not sustainable.
I have also been unable to access the official system to challenge this before the deadline, despite repeated attempts.
I am now left in a position where:
• I cannot get clear answers
• I cannot challenge through the system
• I am facing a bill that could put a 24-year business at risk
I have also contacted my local MP, @drlsullivan, and to date have received no response.
This is not how small businesses should be treated.
I am now working with the press to get answers — not just for myself, but because I suspect I am not the only one facing this.
If you are a local business experiencing similar issues, please get in touch.
This needs addressing.

@eBay_UK Hi, eBay has auto populated (using AI it seems) my listings with the incorrect country of origin. How do I fix it? There are over 1000 listings - of which I am now responsible for the error. I don't know why eBay would do this. @unsuckEBAY@ValueAddedRS 🤦🏼
@ValueAddedRS Yeah....as I export to the EU and USA - the incorrect info could result in a buyer opening a NAD case, and we all know who eBay will side with, and I'll be out hundreds $$ in shipping costs 🤦🏼
There’s a hidden industry ripping off HMRC and ordinary taxpayers.
“Advisers” promise big tax refunds. They invent expenses, file bogus claims, and take a cut. When HMRC comes knocking, it’s the taxpayer left with the bill.
A tribunal has just exposed one such firm.

Dear @MetPoliceUK,
Below is a video of Zarah Sultana MP, inciting violence against British citizens at a rally in London.
“We are the majority. We will defeat them… we will fight them in the streets.”
Zarah must be investigated for the following criminal acts:
>S.4 Public Order Act 1986 (provocation of violence)
>SS.44-46 Serious Crime Act 2007 (encouraging or assisting crime)
>S.1 Terrorism Act 2006 (publishing (or causing publication of) a statement, either intending encouragement or inducement or being reckless as to whether it will have that effect — for political or ideological purposes)
I look forward to your investigation of Ms Sultana any criminal charges that may arise from her despicable conduct.
This is a clear incitement of violence, for political and ideological purposes, against an immeasurable number of innocent British citizens.
She is unfit for Parliament, and unfit for public office. Her hateful, dangerous, and wilfully divisive language as demonstrated below proves just that.
Sincerely,
The British Public
@dshensmith@BethRigby Can't believe anything Starmer says Dan, as you know I'm sure! Probably hired a PR firm at the taxpayers expense to help him pull the wool over some gullible eyes. How anyone still supports him or his party....it's madness!
MP Estate Planning sells trusts to the elderly to avoid IHT & care fees.
They don't work.
That's just the start - our investigation found:
🚩 False claims of expertise
🚩 A "head of legal" who doesn't exist
🚩 A website made of AI slop
🚩 A mysterious £1.7m owed to HMRC
🧵:
They just can’t help themselves.
The Bank, not the government, cuts interest rates — and it has been doing so because the economy is flat on its back.
Foreign inward investment has been weak. Last year well below 2023 for example.
Inflation doubled under Labour (from 2% to almost 4%) within a year and is still at 3%, 50% above the 2% target it inherited.
Debt is rising not reducing.
There was a budget surplus in January. There always is in January. We’re still on track to rack up another multi-billion pound budget deficit in 2025/26.
Gaslighting is now Labour’s default position — and truth a stranger.
Almost everything this PM says now requires a community note.
The electricity price cap is not coming down because the government has managed to produce electricity more cheaply. It’s still the most expensive in the world — and forecast to become even more expensive.
The cap is reduced because the government has taken £117-worth of largely green subsidies from fuel your bills and put them on to general taxation. You’re still paying for them — just in a different way.
And as your taxes go up to meet these green levies the cap is still £73 higher than when Labour came to power. So your energy bills are not coming down — though Labour promised they would — and the overall tax burden is at a record high.
There PM. Sorted it for you.
