Sending NOEA member @gilltee3 and her team much love . Am feeling so much pain in the events industry made worse when watching large crowds at Wimbledon and sport going ahead.
If this happens targeted support for the events industry is needed. Many without income since Oct 2019. worse position to last year and events setting up and have unrecoverable costs. Staff brought off furlough, deposits paid.
NOEA's VP Craig Mathie from @Bournemouth7s has been busy on BBC South asking the Government for support for the underwriting insurance scheme.
The more publicity the scheme gets the better. See the interview here https://t.co/00KHnOiCXl
Some welcome general support for businesses and jobs but a lot more work to do for #event businesses and #eventprofs where trading activity is currently zero and short time working not viable. Closed sectors of the economy need specific help. @RishiSunak
It’s crucial that @RishiSunak statement tomorrow supports live music. 210,000 people rely on concerts and festivals for employment, but we’ll be one of the last sectors to open. The UK’s live music industry is world-beating. Without support, it won’t survive #LetTheMusicPlayMusic
#rishisunak... On behalf of the 600,000+ working in live events across festivals, concerts, trade shows, theatre, business meetings and conferences, we need support or this industry simply won’t exist. And then who will organise your party conference?
#WeMakeEvents#eventprofs
The announcement follows warnings from the National Outdoor Events Association (#NOEA) last month that the industry was looking at irreversible damage, with many businesses unable to guarantee existence past July 2020.
Service companies providing the stages, sound, lighting, video and sets for concerts, festivals and large scale events have had no income out since March and have no prospect of working until mass gatherings can resume. Please don't forget us Mr Johnson.

#WeMakeEvents PLEASE SHARE! Today PLASA launch our new campaign to amplify the events industry’s voice to gain meaningful government support through the Covid-19 crisis. Our message is simple: Don't let events go dark! https://t.co/SPky92xLIT

We agree @DowneyJD also mass gatherings should be organised gatherings to differentiate all the events that are well organised and working in how to run with physical distancing
We have been saying this for months and are getting little traction. THERE WILL BE NO FESTIVALS LEFT UNLESS ACTION IS TAKEN! @wearethefair @NOEAnews @bvep_uk @AIF_UK
