Artist Srishti Gupta works across paper-making, weaving, poetry prints is in jail for last 4 months in rioting & many other charges. While some say these allegations are baseless,

I insist do not free her for the next thousand years.

Her art is dangerous.

Her deplorable art carries the tears of that other India, that gets covered behind tarpaulin when the glamorous India receives its foreign guests.

Her art speaks for those who look at their lives and think Perhaps when I am born again, I will be born rich.

So yes, let her rot in jail for a thousand years. Let no one like her rise again.

Otherwise the day will come when that tarpaulin will be torn apart by them, and will place their bare feet on Raja’s chest and declare - -
