Hey @elonmusk @DOGE after you are done cutting budgets for random foreign aid can you please help the USDA direct loan with a little more funding

It helps low income people in rural areas escape rent and poverty by helping them to buy a home

It currently has demand of 7000 people in line for funding but only has a budget for about 2500 people (1b)

It’s currently very inefficiently ran but can be done much for efficiently with less money going to admin and more to people who may need it

The majority of the process is done using paper applications, and I’ve built software for automating it but the upper level funding bottlenecks need to be cleared for it to be truly useful

I bought my first home with it and it can help a lot more average Americans

It’s an incredible program that helps low income families buy homes in rural areas but some states have waitlists of up to 3 years just to get approved while other states only take a week

It’s not highly funded but just extremely inefficient and slow

This will help a lot of Americans have a shot at owning a home
