Knowing what to do and having the discipline to follow through are worlds apart. We often understand our needs but struggle to overcome counterproductive habits:
So many times we know what we need to do but just can't get ourselves to break these dumb habits.
- Excessive phone use
- Staying up late
- Nighttime snacking
- Unhealthy eating
- Drinking, smoking, pills
- Porn
- Refreshing our stock/crypto portfolios
- Playing hands at the poker table we know we shouldn't
- Wasting time on mindless content
The cost of this lack of discipline is that we end up not having the time or energy for the things we love and care about most.
- Gym routine
- Social life
- Love life
- Time teaching our kids
- Growing our career/business
- Pursuing hobbies and passions
- Travel
- Impacting others in a positive way
- Self-development
- Therapy
- Time in nature
- Our financial goals
I wrote this on my whiteboard the other day "π°π ππππ ππππππππππππ ππ πππ ππππππ πππ ππππππ ππ ππ?"
Let this question guide you through your daily routines. When you reflect on your actions with this in mind, the path to where you truly want to invest your time becomes unmistakably clear, and the motivation comes naturally.
Much β€οΈ to everyone out there trying to be the best versions of themselves, let's get it! π
