Honoured to receive the Best Collector Award 2024-25 from the Hon'ble Chief Minister, after receiving the same recognition for 2023-24 at the last Collectors' Conference.

Civil services are rooted in anonymity, where service matters more than recognition. Yet, such honours inspire us to serve with greater dedication.

This award belongs to my entire team, whose commitment brought the administration closer to the people through effective service delivery.

'முதல் காதல்' குறித்து கவிஞர்களும் இலக்கியங்களும் சிலாகிப்பதைப் போல், காசு சேர்த்து தனியாக பட்டிவீரன்பட்டி மதி மெஸ்ஸில் சாப்பிட்ட பரோட்டாவின் சுவையை எல்லா ஊர்களிலும் தேடிக் கொண்டே இருக்கிறேன் !!

மதுரை ஒத்தக்கடை முனியாண்டி விலாசின் அதே பரோட்டா சுவை ஸ்பெயின் தலைநகர் மாட்ரிட்டில் உண்ணக் கிடைத்தது தமிழர்களின் உணவியல் அதிசயம்.

ராஜபாளையத்தில் நான் கண்டறிந்த ஆய்வு முடிவின்படி, ஒரு கடையில் பரோட்டாவும் இன்னொரு கடையில் சால்னாவும் சூப்பராக இருக்கும். அதனால் எப்போதும் இரண்டு கடைகளில் பரோட்டா வாங்கி Mix Match செய்த அனுபவத்தோடு இந்த கட்டுரையை ஒரு நாள் எழுதி முடிக்கலாம்..

விருதுநகர் மாவட்ட ஆட்சியராக இருந்தபோது, ஒருநாள் காலை நரிக்குடி வட்டார மருத்துவமனை ஆய்வின் போது எடுக்கப்பட்ட புகைப்படத்தின்‌‌ Inspection Notes இது..

"ஐயா.. யாரோ பெரிய அதிகாரி கலெக்டர் வந்திருக்காரம்ல"... யாருய்யா‌ அது‌ ?...

சொல்லு‌‌ அப்பத்தா.... நான் தான் அந்த கலெக்டர்...

"ஐயா, நெசமாலுமா ?"...‌ ஆமத்தா.. உனக்கு என்னா வேணும்?.

"ஒன்னும்‌ இல்லைய்யா... மேலுக்கு சொகமில்ல ஆஸ்பத்திரிக்கு வந்தேன்"...

இந்த பாட்டியை மருத்துவரிடம் அழைத்துச் சென்று, இவர் எனது அப்பத்தா எப்போதும் நன்றாக பார்த்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு வந்தேன்...

ஒரு காலத்தில் இந்த பாட்டியின் காதுகளில் நல்ல தண்டட்டி அணிந்திருக்கும்...‌ இன்று‌ அந்த வெறும் காதுகளுக்கு பின், வறுமையோ இழப்போ ஏமாற்றமோ என ஏதேனும் ஒரு சோகக் கதை இருக்கக்கூடும்...‌

ஆனால் அவை எல்லாவற்றையும் மீறி முட்டி மோதி வாழ்ந்து செல்லும் ஒரு விதையின் வைராக்கியம் மட்டும் நெஞ்சில் இருக்கும்.. இதுதான் நாம் அவர்களிடம் இருந்து கற்க வேண்டியது...
