I have always been fascinated by what makes us alive compared to any non-living things. All living species have a tendency to create a special connection with another living one. What makes this connection happen is something I am always fascinated by.
This special connection is often built when an emotion is invoked in both species.
I remember my hostel, we used to have a lot of cats. They would come to me and suddenly they had my attention. I loved all of them. Them trying to hang around me for gentle caressing and then going about their life.
I also found @hackaday during the build and I love the people over there who took interest in the project.
Thanks to everyone who viewed ot followed this on hackaday, you guys are amazing whoever you are and wherever you are.
I spent 4 months building a tiny robot with feelings.
It senses how interact with it, grows its own personality, and shows how it feels on its face.
Meet MiniSoul.

There's a state of energy that I reach which feels completely depleted yet the brain refuse to rest.
This is different from being tired which asks for rest.
Need to finish something fast and I need to gather every ounce of energy I can.
The gap isn't between people who can see and people who don't, it's between people for whom seeing creates an obligation and people for whom it only creates a description, and what decides which you are is whether you can survive the sight of your own fault.
I've been working on MiniSoul with a deadline 10 days out, and I'm falling behind since I'm not getting enough time for it. Every small window of free time, I'm putting toward it.
Once I hand MiniSoul over, I can't change the hardware, but I can always update the software, as long as I build in the ability to update the firmware. That's what I focused on over the last week.
I know I won't catch every bug at once, and I might not ship every improvement I want. But this gives me peace of mind.If something breaks, I can fix it with a new release.
Here's a small visualization of how the flow works, made with Claude which gives a pretty good picture.
Finished adding OTA updates, this would help me fix bugs without touching the hardware if any. I am short on time and this needs to be finished in next 10 days of whatever time I get before giving it to someone.

So you want me to add whatever book I am reading in your app before I start reading it and then whenever I want to switch between book I have to select what book I am reading?
you could have made that "bookmark" of yours to be used to recognise the book at the very least.
Mildly frustrated at my own frustration. I knew I had to re-solder everything but I should have done this.
But even if I have to do it a million times I would still do it again and again.
