Just read that Durrani Stationers in Super Market, Islamabad, has shut down after 50 years.
It was a short walk from our house, a quiet corner where childhood took shape, from school supply runs and exam panic to summer workbook rituals.
Now the shutters are down, and with them, another piece of Islamabad’s old soul.
Like Radio City, Heaven Fast Food, Sam, and Offbeat Music Store, Durrani too has slipped into the realm of nostalgia.
For India, politically motivated terrorism charges are not about terrorism. It is part of India's coercive diplomacy to avoid a comprehensive dialogue with Pakistan to resolve Kashmir and other disputes, including terrorism - a major concern, given Indian support to BLA, TTP etc

Hilarious. Telling the person whose team mediated the crisis that no mediation took place!! Must have been an amusing conversation.
The Indian media and government have set new standards for faking stuff. They continue to deny plain facts about the recent crisis. It's been bad enough that even Western media has openly berated them. And yet, lies must beget lies… so they continue.
To intellectualize it:
India’s aversion to third-party mediation is well known. But it has never applied to crisis moments with Pakistan. When regional nuclear powers get into a crisis, stronger global powers with influence will show up whether regional parties ask for them or not.
India, often more than Pakistan, has been eager to engage third parties to put pressure on Pakistan and de-escalate crises since the region’s nuclearization. This isn’t up for debate, these are documented facts (Read: Brokering Peace in Nuclear Environments). Pakistan does the same.
But what’s the shame in accepting this? It’s the only sensible thing to do for both in the absence of bilateral crisis management mechanisms.
Here is the paradox in India’s position: if it doesn’t want a third party to intervene at all, it needs to agree to bilateral crisis management and dispute resolution. If it does not do that, and India and Pakistan continue with a broken relationship, the U.S. and others will play their role in preventing major war. That’s just how it is; lying about it won't change anything.
We are delighted to share the news that our department has been awarded four research project grants from the Swedish Research Council (VR). Congratulations to Erika, Karin, Sebastian, and Kathleen on this achievement!
This #IqbalDay, let’s honour the wisdom of the Shayar-e-Mashriq, and strive to realise our true potential. Here’s one of his verses that continues to inspire me:
خودی کو کر بلند اتنا کہ ہر تقدیر سے پہلے
خدا بندے سے خود پوچھے بتا تیری رضا کیا ہے
