US LAUNCHES FRESH AIRSTRIKES ON IRAN AFTER 2 TROOPS KILLED IN JORDAN

Key developments:

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that two American service members were killed and one remains missing after an Iranian missile and drone attack on a U.S.-used base in Jordan. Several others were injured but have since returned to duty or been discharged.

At 6:00 p.m. ET, U.S. forces began a new wave of airstrikes against targets in Iran on the President’s orders.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes are intended to:
Further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

Punish the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for the attack that killed U.S. personnel in Jordan.

BREAKING: President Trump has formally notified US Congress that the US is at war with Iran, per Politico.

Details include:

1. The move gives Trump another 60 days to use the military in the region without congressional approval

2. Trump said strikes that began on July 7th represent "military action consistent with my responsibility to protect Americans and US interests both at home and abroad"

3. Trump also just said that he will "hit Iran hard" tonight amid mounting tensions

How to actually understand if you're dealing with low stomach acid:

1. Simple baking soda test (at home). This is best used as a loose signal, not as a test with perfect accuracy. But it’s free, harmless and I’ve found it to be a good indicator with people who’ve done this + other testing below.

2. Heidelberg pH test. This is the most direct option, but not commonly used. You swallow a capsule that measures the actual acidity in your stomach in real time. Measures the thing itself, not a proxy.

3. Pepsinogen I and II (blood). These reflect the health of the cells that produce your stomach acid. A low level or low ratio can point toward those cells losing function.

4. Gastrin (blood). The signal your body sends to make acid. When acid is low, there is less feedback to turn gastrin off, so levels can increase as the body tries to compensate.

If you’re dealing with symptoms like bloating, belching, undigested food in stool, constipation, fatigue or feeling abnormally full soon after you start eating, it’s worth looking into acid levels.

One note: the pH testing conventional GI usually runs measures acid in your esophagus to diagnose reflux. It's not measuring whether your stomach makes enough acid in the first place. Different question, and part of why low acid gets missed.

And H. pylori belongs in this discussion too.

It's extremely common (found in ~50% of the world population) and many people carrying it never know. It can directly disrupt stomach acid levels.

So if you've got unexplained acid issues, reflux, stomach pain or other symptoms tied to H. pylori or low acid, it's worth testing for that too.

Policybazaar on Thursday opened it's 2nd hospital in Delhi NCR

Funding of 1800 cr, their plan is right now to have 1200 beds only in Delhi NCR.

Their idea is that customers should just be able to pay premiums, and then get cashless treatment, without any paperwork.

Which is what insurance was ideally supposed to do - it mostly never happens because of the conflict between the two parties.

Them opening hospitals, they want to solve for this alignment.

Interesting times.

GOVT MAY REVAMP GOLD MONETISATION SCHEME; JEWELLERS LIKELY TO BE ADDED AS COLLECTION PARTNERS

The Central Government is expected to announce a revamped Gold Monetisation Scheme (GMS) within the next two weeks, according to sources.

Under the proposed framework, jewellers may be allowed to act as Collection Partners, enabling them to collect and aggregate household gold deposits before routing them into the formal GMS ecosystem—a role previously limited to banks.

The move aims to mobilise a larger share of India's estimated 30,000 tonnes of idle household gold, reduce dependence on bullion imports, and improve participation in a scheme that has seen limited success since its launch
