Had a brief interaction with Dr. Arun Manhas, JKAS, Director of Industries and Commerce, Jammu.

A stellar officer known as a problem-solver, famously nicknamed “Sankatmochak” (Crisis Remover) by his police colleagues during his tenure as Additional District Development Commissioner (ADC) in Jammu, for his swift resolutions of crises, he has been driving industrial growth, business reforms, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in J&K under central schemes.

Took the opportunity to update him on Voice of Dogras’ latest projects and present my book, Mountain Goddesses.

Harvinder Singh, who is respected by the public, whose words people want to hear, whose work is streamlined and efficient, so much so that even the President of India has honoured him.

On the other hand, become an MLA without effort, speak without facts or figures, and lower your stature to such an extent that even the very people who voted for you are forced to wonder: “This? Is this really our MLA?”

Is there any justification for him mocking Hindus while you and your party shamelessly sat mute in the Assembly?
Is there any justification for the hooliganism he created in the Assembly, where the people’s real issues should have been debated?
Is there any justification for the Speaker turning a blind eye and taking no action against his disgraceful behaviour?
Is there any justification that, barking like a street thug, he dragged not just a public servant but even his family into his filthy abuse?

I have always stood for politics leading the system, not bureaucracy. But don’t mistake that for a free license to spit venom at an officer’s family. That is gutter politics, and defending it is worse.
