I relate to this album because I, too, spent years with a man who drained my soul. Since leaving, I’ve been reminded I’m still alive and I’ve met men who actually like me, and suddenly the world’s in HD. You don’t realize how bad it was until someone treats you right, and suddenly you’re smiling for no reason. It’s dumb and cheesy and feels so high school, but maybe that’s what being head-over-heels is supposed to feel like.
