Today marks the anniversary of the death in 1976 of LS Lowry, best-known artist of the Northern School, to which Peter Brook was connected with early paintings like ‘Figures at the Foot of a Terraced Street, Looking Towards the Mills of Sowerby Bridge’. (Sold by Bonhams in 2009)
